The Commenting System allows users to give feedback on the content on your site. This can be useful for gathering information about items in your collection. Instructions for using the commenting system are given below in both video form and in text with illustrations. This functionality is only available on MEMAT’s heritage sites.
To view the video larger, at the bottom of the video frame either click on the “enter full screen” icon or click on the “watch on Vimeo.com” icon.

The ability to comment is given to users who are logged in on your site as well as people who have not logged in. The advantage for those who are logged in is that they don’t need to fill in their personal details every time they make a comment. These screen shots show what a user would see on the site if not logged in:
Log out of your site, if you are logged, then search for and click on a thumbnail image.
The preview page of that item will appear with a space to comment at the bottom.
Fill this form in and hit SEND.
As the system administrator you will receive an email in your inbox alerting you to this comment.
First login to your site as the administrator and then click on the link in the email to approve or delete the comment.
Any comments that are approved will appear on the right of the preview page once you have approved them.
